DeBernardo, Goullette hungry on mat
Milford High senior Ricky DeBernardo was hungry for this week, all the way back in December at the Milford Invitational Tournament.
“The goal is to win the state championship,” said DeBernardo, who was third in the state last winter. “Everything I do between (December) and (this Saturday’s Division II state meet at ConVal) is done to help me reach that goal.”
DeBernardo and Dominic Goullette (second last year) are the two Spartan returning placers at the event, which will kick off in the morning and run through the day at ConVal in Peterborough.
The Spartans’ team goal is a simple one, according to coach Dean Bourassa.
“We’re looking for all our guys to wrestle up to or above the level of their seedings,” said the Spartans’ coach.
