Entrants sought for summer holiday card challenge
To the Editor:
I’m baaaack! While I remain ever grateful to Hollis/Brookline response to last year’s Holiday Card Challenge, I’d like to up the ante and challenge our amazing community again. This year my goal is to collect 5,000 cards for each of the branches of our military; 25,000 in total. I want to spread the “holiday love” to all of our beloved troops, who will be deployed this coming winter holiday season. I call it Christmas-In-July (August and September). The Hollis Pharmacy has free cards to sign as do the Wild Salamander Arts Center and Fulchino Winery in Hollis. They also serve as a drop off station for all cards, especially those amazing homemade ones that are loved by our soldiers. All you have to do is write “Dear Warrior” and a holiday message of any length (drawings are great!) and sign your first name, city and state. It’s a great feel-good, nonpartisan, patriotic activity for all ages, families and groups. I believe our community will take the lead in New Hampshire’s efforts to meet my goal. Any questions, my email is HolidayCardsNH@gmail.com.
