Merle Isabelle Buck, 96, of Nashua, NH died on August 14, 2024, at the Hunt Community in Nashua, NH, her long time home. Born July 18, 1928, in Montpelier, VT, Merle was the daughter of the late Norman Allen and Ruth Mildred (Cheney) MacKenzie and widow of Walter E. Buck, who died in February 2001.

Merle was the mother of eight children, who remember her excellent cooking and homemaking skills, and enjoy reminiscing over shared family traditions. Her hobbies included gardening, playing Bridge and other card games, reading and traveling.

Merle had many loving lifelong friendships, and was a devoted friend.

Survivors include 5 daughters, Christina MacKenzie of Arizona, Susan Collins (Tim) of Wilbraham, MA, Nancy Herman (Dave) of Ventura, CA, Ruth Harwood (Ross) of Appleton, ME, and Miriam (Mim) Weisz (Doug) of Chicago, IL: two sons, Robert James Asselin (Mary) of Las Vegas, NV and Norman Allen Asselin, of Marlborough, NH. Merle had fourteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, as well as a large extended family. She was predeceased by her daughter, Muriel Asselin-Barker, who died on October 3, 2018.

SERVICES: Visiting hours will be held on November 9, 2024 from 9:30 – 11:30 AM at the Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock St., Nashua, NH 03064. A Memorial service will be celebrated at 12:00 noon at the First Church Nashua, UCC, Concord St., Nashua, NH. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend both the visiting hours and the memorial service, which will be followed by a social gathering at First Church, with light food provided.
