John T. McDonald Jr.

John T. "Jack" McDonald, Jr., 78, long time resident of Milford, NH, died peacefully at his home in Greenville, NH on November 22, 2016, sur­rounded by family.

He was born in Provi­dence, RI on August 21, 1938, a son of John T. and Elizabeth (Conroy) Mc­Donald. He graduated from St. Raphael Acad­emy and attended the Uni­versity of Rhode Island for 2 years. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he was trained in information systems. He was stationed in France, where the 1st of his 5 children was born. Following his discharge in 1962, he was employed in the Data Processing De­partment of Texas Instru­ments in Attleboro, MA. In 1964, he was recruited by Hitchiner Manufactur­ing Company and retired in 2001 as Director of In­formation Systems. While working, he attended New Hampshire College gradu­ating in 1979.

He played hockey, base­ball and ran track in high school. He was active in the MCAA coaching hock­ey and umpiring baseball. He loved to play golf. He most especially loved his family and treasured the time spent with them.

Mr. McDonald was a communicant of St. Pat­rick’s Church, Jaffrey, NH. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3035 where he ca­tered functions and volun­teered at bingo nights.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Doris M. (Leedham) McDonald, a daughter, Kelly McDonald Ost and a sister, Marilyn Gallagher.

Family members in­clude his wife, Linda (McReavy) McDonald of Greenville, NH; a daugh­ter and three sons, Shawn Quinn and her husband, Michael of Milford, NH, John McDonald III and his wife, Mary of Cumberland, ME, Scott McDonald and his wife, Valerie of Bed­ford NH, and Justin Mc­Donald, and his wife, Car­ole of Boscawen, NH; three stepsons, Maury Grugnale of Ballston Spa, NY, Timo­thy Grugnale of Greenville, NH and Dominic Grug­nale of Hampton, NH; 20 grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Marcia and George Moriarty.

There are no visiting hours. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Sat­urday, December 3rd at 11 am in St. Patrick’s Church, 87 Main Street, Jaffrey, NH. Followed by a reception at the Woodbound Inn, Rind­ge, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Share Out­reach, 1 Columbus Ave., Milford, NH 03055.
