Robert Moses Peaslee, Jr.
Robert Moses “Bob” Peaslee, Jr. of Bonita Springs, FL, formerly from Milford, New Hampshire, passed away on September 30, 2012.
Born on September 18, 1946 in Peterborough, New Hampshire, he was the son of the late Robert Moses and the late Pauline (McCormick) Peaslee. He attended Milford schools, was a standout on the baseball and soccer fields, and was a 1964 graduate of Milford High School. He served as Navy Corpsman during the Vietnam War, and after his honorable discharge owned (with various partners) several businesses in the Milford area, including Redeye’s Tavern, Boppa’s Restaurant, and Atlantic Printing Company. He was an enthusiastic supporter of the Milford Community Athletic Association, serving as a Little League coach at various levels, and was a member of the Milford VFW and American Legion. He was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan, and he played and coached for many years in the Souhegan (NH) and Citrus Park (FL) softball leagues.
Mr. Peaslee is survived by his former wife of 30 years, Susan Randlett Peaslee of Estero, FL: son Robert Moses Peaslee, III, and his wife Kate of Lubbock, TX; daughter Amy Poisson, and her husband Patrick, of Seattle, WA; and sister Betty Grosso, and her husband, Doug of Castleton, VT. Also, grandsons, Eamon and Connor Sheehy, and Coen Peaslee, and granddaughter Hazel Peaslee; nephew Jon Zimnick; nieces Beth Wolven, Traci Mattison, and Jessica Forest; and many, many loving friends.
A memorial service is planned in Milford, New Hampshire for Saturday, May 18 at 11am at the First Congregational Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 1 VFW Way, Milford, New Hampshire 03055.
