Rose Mountain Preserve enlarged
LYNDEBOROUGH – Piscataquog Land Conservancy in New Boston recently had the opportunity to purchase an additional 22 acres for the Rose Mountain Preserve, but only one month in which to raise the needed $55,000.
A press release on July 14 says, “We reached our goal with a few hours to spare.
More than 80 individuals, families and organizations contributed to the campaign.”
The addition, to the east of the summit, brings the total acreage to 211 and secures a key segment of the trail system adjoining the Lyndeborough Town Forest.
The Preserve includes the summit of Rose Mountain and began with what was known as “The Boy Scout Lot,” the site of a former camp belonging to the Daniel Webster Council.
