Science for Seniors program set

WILTON – The Conservation Commission will hold an introductory session of the new Science Program for Senior Citizens on July 13, 7 p.m., at the Collaborative Center at the Congregational Church.

The Commission is updating their Natural Resources Inventory and this program will teach participants how to catalog sightings, not only along the river from the new gazebo but in your backyard and other places.

A log can be kept the old-fashioned way – on paper – or electronically with the iNaturalist app on your phone.

The program is also a pleasant way to get outside, spot the eagles and great blue herons, watch the river otters fish, as well as meet old friends and make new ones.

A grant from AARP will build the gazebo this summer. A celebration of the program will be held in November at the town hall to thank all the volunteers who participate.
