Alene scholarship to Milford’s Cote

MILFORD – Alene Candles has awarded Milford High School graduating senior Trice Cote with a scholarship during a Local Scholarship Awards Night ceremony on June 5.

Alene Candles annually recognizes one Milford High School graduating senior in support of the student’s pursuit of higher education.

“Awarding a scholarship to a Milford High School senior is way for Alene to give back to the community, while also supporting the next generation of STEM professionals,” said Rod Harl, president & CEO of Alene Candles.

“We are proud to award Trice with a scholarship. His academic success and his passion for science and engineering impressed our team and we look forward to seeing where his future will lead him.”

Cote was a member of the New Hampshire Scholars Program and the National Honors Society and he graduated summa cum laude.

He was a member of student council, multiple clubs and athletic teams, and captained both the football and baseball teams during his senior year.

He received multiple scholar-athlete awards this year for his academic and athletic abilities.

Cote plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

“I have a passion for the STEM field that was sparked by Milford High School’s pre-engineering program. I have found joy in this area of study and would like to eventually head into the industry for design engineering,” Cote said.

“The research and hands-on learning opportunities that college presents are essential in my career choice.”

Cote was selected from a pool of 51 applicants, who were evaluated based on their grade point average, academic achievements, extracurricular program participation, availability of other financial aid and short essays.
