People interested in helping to improve the lives of seniors in southern New Hampshire are invited to attend a Breakfast Exchange Club meeting. The club provides support through a variety of programs for Greater Nashua’s seniors, including Days of Caring shopping sprees, Heat Up/Cool Down energy assistance programs, cookouts and other social activities held at senior housing locations throughout the area. COMFORT SHAWL KNITTERS

St. Joseph Hospital is seeking volunteers to help knit or crochet comfort shawls. The shawls bring a special measure of comfort to patients. St. Joseph Hospital is seeking volunteers to provide one-on-one companionship for participants of the Edward V. Karg Day Away Program, which is designed to give those caring for loved ones suffering with Alzheimer’s a break. People interested in helping to improve the lives of seniors in southern New Hampshire are invited to attend a Breakfast Exchange Club meeting. The club provides support through a variety of programs for Greater Nashua’s seniors, including Days of Caring shopping sprees, Heat Up/Cool Down energy assistance programs, cookouts and other social activities held at senior housing locations throughout the area. COMFORT SHAWL KNITTERS

St. Joseph Hospital is seeking volunteers to help knit or crochet comfort shawls. The shawls bring a special measure of comfort to patients. The shawls are knitted or crocheted with great love by volunteers, who donate them to the hospital. Call the Spiritual Care Department at St. Joseph Hospital at 882-3000, ext. 67800. CORE

CORE (Community Outreach and Resource Education Center) is a newly formed faith-based nonprofit that provides activities that relate to the welfare of the community by offering educational programs, health awareness, mentoring (support groups), referrals and a meeting place. DAY AWAY PROGRAM

St. Joseph Hospital is seeking volunteers to provide one-on-one companionship for participants of the Edward V. Karg Day Away Program, which is designed to give those caring for loved ones suffering with Alzheimer’s a break. The program, which runs from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. one day a week, offers music therapy, crafts, pet therapy, physical therapy, lunch, games and other stimulating activities for the Alzheimer’s participant. THE FIXIT PROGRAM

Southern New Hampshire Services’ The Fixit Program is seeking volunteers to help seniors 60 and older and the disabled with minor home repairs and maintenance.
